McMillan receives ALFA scholarship

Perry County native Hardy McMillan, a junior at Auburn University, has received a $2,000 scholarship from the Alabama Farmers Agriculture Foundation and the Perry County Farmers Federation.

McMillan, who is studying wildlife enterprise management, was recognized Sept. 21 at the Alabama Farmers Federation’s scholarship reception at Lazenby Farms in Auburn.

He was one of 79 students honored. The foundation and county Farmers Federations awarded almost $140,000 in scholarships to Auburn undergraduates preparing for careers in agriculture and forestry, the Federation said. Applications for the next scholarships open Nov. 1 at AlfaFarmers.org/scholarships. The deadline to apply is Feb. 1, 2027.
