Bobcats Defeat Rams in Montgomery on Monday
The R.C. Hatch Bobcats advanced to the semifinals after beating Francis Marion by a score of 55-42.
Isiah Thomas of the Bobcats scored 11 points and made 14 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 blocks, and 4 steals. Desarion Lewis shot 4 for 6 from behind the three-point line and stole the ball twice. Theotis Dudley made 7 out of 8 attempted free throws along with two assists and two steals.
For the Rams, Amari Woods made 4 out of 9 3-point shots and two blocks and two steals. Michael Hopkins picked up 10 rebounds and made 1 assist, 1 block, and 3 steals. Keldric Lapsley scored 6 points and made 8 rebounds.
R.C. Hatch will play the Hubbertville Lions in the BJCC Legacy Arena at 10:30AM on Monday, March 2.
Lady Rams Will Move On to State Semifinals
The Francis Marion Lady Rams won out over the R.C. Hatch Lady Bobcats by a score of 56-42 in Monday’s Elite 8 game played at ASU’s Dunn-Oliver Acadome in Montgomery.
Marion’s Jessica Essex scored 25 points, shooting 5 for 7 from the free-throw line and landing two of the team’s three 3-pointers. Essex also grabbed 12 rebounds and 3 blocks. Leondra Rawls scored 11 points along with 10 rebounds and 2 assists. Tracianna Moore scored 16 points with 16 rebounds and 5 steals. Kelashia Shleton got 6 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals.
R.C. Hatch’s Moeshia Myers scored 14 points and made two of the team’s three 3-pointers. Myers also made an assist and stole the ball 3 times. Dameria Bates scored 14 points along with 14 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks and 2 steals. Jakobia Ross scored 11 points with 3 rebounds and 4 assists.
The Francis Marion Lady Rams will play the Marion County Red Raiders in the semifinals on Monday, March 2 at 9AM in Legacy Arena at the BJCC.
