A Uniontown man is facing felony and misdemeanor charges in Perry County after authorities say he escaped from officers and assaulted his girlfriend last fall.
According to a criminal complaint filed in Perry County District Court, Joshua Vantrel Norfleet, 25, is charged with escape in the third degree and third-degree domestic-violence assault in connection with an incident that occurred on or about Nov. 8, 2025.
The complaint, signed by Uniontown Police Chief Michael Kiser, alleges that Norfleet escaped from the custody of Uniontown law enforcement officers C. Burch and S. Plummer after being placed under arrest.
The filing further alleges that, during the same incident, Norfleet committed third-degree assault against his girlfriend. Investigators say Norfleet caused physical injury to her by punching her in the mouth.
Court records show the case was filed Feb. 11, 2026, and that Norfleet was arrested the same day. He is being held on a total bond of $8,500.
