ALEA seeks Cooper as person of interest in Nov. 12 murder of Holifield

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is asking for the public’s assistance in a homicide investigation in Perry County. Special Agents with ALEA’s State Bureau of Investigation opened the case on Wednesday, November 12, at the request of the Perry County Sheriff’s Office after Jeffery Holifield, 68, of Marion, was found deceased in the 2000 block of Onrow Tubbs Road in Marion.

Investigators have identified Anastassja “Anya” Cooper, 32, of Marion, as a person of interest they want to locate and question. Cooper is described as a white woman with brown hair and brown eyes, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing approximately 216 pounds. She may be in possession of or traveling with a mixed-breed dog named “Banana.”

Anyone who sees Cooper or has information about her whereabouts is asked to contact ALEA SBI at 334-850-0910. ALEA said no additional details are being released at this time while the case remains active.
