Alabama students awarded scholarships to attend MMI

Three high school graduates from across Alabama have been awarded scholarships to attend Marion Military Institute (MMI), one of the nation’s premier military junior colleges.

This year’s scholarship recipients include Judd Johnston Lunsford of Huntsville, Stanley Hawkins McConnell Jr. of Mobile, and Maggie Christine Mae Ingram of Mc- Calla. Each has been selected to attend MMI as part of the U.S. service academy preparatory program. The program helps students prepare academically and physically for entry into one of the country’s five federal service academies. The students were part of the fourth round of appointments/scholarships announced by Sen. Tommy Tuberville since being named to serve on the Board of Visitors for the U.S. Air Force earlier this year.

These students are among just four across the state awarded preparatory scholarships through the U.S. service academies this year. Their selection reflects a high level of achievement, character, and commitment to military service.
