Alabama Law Enforcement Agency agents issued citations to three individuals at a local sports bar, “Fun Encounter,” following an investigation into unlicensed alcohol sales Jan. 18.
The business was operating in the same location as the former “Brief Encounter” nightclub, which was licensed. The operation resulted in charges against three people after an undercover officer reportedly purchased alcohol there.
According to court documents, Rashawnda Taylor, who officers say was working as a bartender at the establishment, served alcohol to an undercover officer. Taylor, of Tuscaloosa, was charged with selling alcohol without a license under Alabama law.
Johnny Stevenson, whom court documents identified as a part owner of the venue, was also charged with unlicensed alcohol sales. Officers alleged Stevenson, of Marion, oversaw operations at the bar, which police say lacked the proper licensing to serve alcoholic beverages.
Latoya Smith, of Uniontown, who agents said was at the door of the business collecting a cover charge, was also charged with selling alcohol without a license.
