Martha Bailey Pruett, 84 of Calhoun, GA, formerly of Uniontown, AL passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 20, 2023. She was born on September 8, 1939, in Atlanta, GA to Charles Sam Bailey and Beulah Smith Bailey. Martha loved cooking and shopping and being with family. She dearly loved her family and God; and she will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 62 years, Gerald Wallie Pruett; son Jeffery Wayne Pruett; and son-in-law Jeffrey Wayne Kurtti. She is survived by her loving children: Jerry and Carol Pruett of Calhoun, GA; and Lisa Kurtti of Blairsville, GA; her grandchildren: Callie and Austin Norrell, Matthew Pruett; James and Rhea Kurtti; Drew and Will Rowell; and great-grandchild Shavvy Norrell.
Visitation was held from 1:00 to 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Uniontown Baptist Church. Funeral service began at 2:00 pm, with Rev. Gary Courtney officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes, Demopolis Chapel directing. A graveside service followed at Rosemont Cemetery in Uniontown.
Pallbearers were Jerry Pruett, Justine Pruett, Matthew Pruett, Eddie Pruett, Sr., Austin Norrell, and Drew Rowell. Honorary pallbearers were James Kurtti, Eddie Pruett, Jr., Will Roswell, and Mickey Folsom.
