UPDATED (6:15 p.m. Friday, May 27) Marion Police Department has reportedly identified a suspect in the robbery of Marion Community Bank. Law enforcement agencies are reported to be actively searching for this suspect, whose identity has not been released.
Details were sketchy as of Friday afternoon, but an attempted robbery has reportedly occurred at Marion Community Bank on Washington Street in Marion.
Marion Police Department was on the scene as of early Friday afternoon to investigate following the robbery. As of the publication of this article, it was unknown how many suspects may have been involved.
This is not the only time the bank has been the target of crime recently. The bank building was burglarized late last year, on Dec. 6, 2021. That break-in was part of an overnight string of burglaries in Marion that also included the FoodValu supermarket.
