The Rev. Dr. Charles Michael “Mike” Pearson, 67, went to be with Jesus on Friday, September 25.
Mike was born to James and Evelyn Pearson on October 31, 1958. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of West Alabama and his Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary. He went on to earn his Doctor of Ministry and then earned his Ph.D. in organizational leadership. He served 34 years in pastoral ministry.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Jimmy Pearson; and his father-in-law, Joe Day.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Lisa Day Pearson; daughter and son-in-law, India and Payton Linder; grandchildren, Pearson and Ezra Linder; brother, Joe Pearson; mother-in-law, Linda Day; and nieces, Rishay and Allen Morgan and Jamie and Bruce Shelton, and their children.
A memorial service will be held at his home church, Marion Methodist, 110 Washington Street, Marion, on Saturday, October 10. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m., followed by the service at 2 p.m. in the sanctuary.
