Sergeant Major (Retired) Calvin Drake Sr. passed away peacefully June 30, 2026, at the age of 73, leaving behind a legacy of honor, service, and unwavering devotion to his family and country.
Calvin proudly served in the United States Army for 24 years, retiring with the distinguished rank of Sergeant Major. Throughout his military career, he exemplified integrity, leadership, and selfless service, earning the respect and admiration of those who had the privilege of serving alongside him. His dedication to duty and commitment to mentoring others left a lasting impact that extended far beyond his years in uniform.
Above all else, Calvin was a devoted husband, father, and family man. He shared 52 loving years of marriage with his beloved wife, Monika, whose steadfast love and partnership were the foundation of their family. Together, they built a life centered on faith, love, resilience, and commitment.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Monika; his children, Christopher McGowan, Tracy Stevens (Christopher), and Cynthia Drake; his brother, Jeffrey Drake; his nine cherished grandchildren; extended family; and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Calvin Drake Jr. (Heather).
His guidance, quiet strength, and unwavering love will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever honored.
