Optimist Club Essay Contest

Robert C. Hatch High School student Kaci Cole has been named the Alfred G. Adams Optimist Club of Perry County’s local winner in its annual essay contest.

This year’s topic, “How My Acts of Service Help Me Understand What My Community Means to Me,” invited students to reflect on the impact of service in shaping their connection to their community.

Cole’s essay was recognized for its thoughtful and compelling treatment of the subject. She received guidance and support throughout the writing process from her cooperating teacher, Ms. Shanika Teacher.
