Marion Military Institute (MMI) and its U.S. Army ROTC Early Commissioning Program have established a ten-year strategic partnership designed to make MMI the premiere destination for future Army officers.
The agreement, signed by COL David J. Mollahan, USMC (Ret), President of MMI, and LTC Joshua P. Hollingsworth, USA, Professor of Military Science, builds a framework to expand recruiting opportunities, enhance access for students, and strengthen the relationship between MMI and the state’s congressional delegation.
One of the main initiatives of the agreement is the newly designated Patriot Pipeline, which will allow members of Alabama’s congressional delegation to nominate students for selection into MMI’s Army ROTC Early Commissioning Program (ECP) — one of only four such programs in the nation. Beginning in Fall 2026, nominees selected through the Patriot Pipeline will receive enhanced financial support in addition to their ROTC scholarships.
“I’m proud to be part of a team that’s breaking down barriers for our future officers,” said LTC Hollingsworth. “Thanks to President Mollahan and the MMI executive staff, we’re creating real opportunities for students who want to serve, lead, and make a difference. That’s what this agreement is all about.”
This partnership aims to improve MMI’s mission to develop adaptive, service-minded leaders while deepening Alabama’s role in shaping the Army’s next generation of officers.
