The Lincolnite Club, Inc. will unveil a historic marker for Lincoln Normal School on Thursday, Oct. 16, at 10 a.m. on the school’s campus (205 Lincoln St.), kicking off a weekend of reunion events celebrating the school’s heritage and legacy. The marker commemorates Lincoln’s addition to the National Register of Historic Places on Nov. 29, 2022. A campus tour will follow at 12:30 p.m.
The unveiling serves as a prelude to the Lincolnite Club’s 2025 School Reunion, set for Friday–Saturday, Oct. 17–18, on campus. Friday’s schedule (10 a.m.–6 p.m.) features reflections on the school’s historical significance, a scholarship program presentation, the unveiling of photos of school principals, and a campus meet-and-greet.
Saturday’s activities (10 a.m.–4 p.m.) include reunion registration, the national business meeting, and a picnic. Organizers invite Lincolnites, friends, and supporters to “come and share this historic celebration,” noting the school’s heritage is “worthy of preservation.” For more information, the club lists the following contacts: 734-368-0632, 334-412-6054, 334-200-1946, and 334-683-8295.
