Gerald Lee Hogue’s bid to be released on bond while he awaits trial in Perry County has been denied, and new court dates have been set in the case.
Circuit Judge Donald L. McMillan on Sept. 16 denied Hogue’s motion to reinstate bond, a one-line order that leaves in place the Perry County detainer and Hogue’s revoked bond status.
In the motion, filed a day before the order, defense attorney Brandon J. Wooten told the court Hogue has been jailed in Missouri since June 13, 2025; is serving a 120-day sentence in St. Charles County; had a Sept. 23 setting “to sign extradition papers for Alabama”; and would appear for all future hearings if his bond were reinstated and any failure-to-appear warrants were withdrawn.
Three days later, on Sept. 19, McMillan issued an order scheduling a pretrial hearing for Feb. 10, 2026 and a jury trial for Feb. 23, 2026.
Hogue, a Missouri resident, was indicted in Perry County for conspiracy to commit murder, attempted murder, and multiple counts related to discharging a firearm into an occupied building and a vehicle in a 2021 Marion shooting. He was declared a fugitive after missing a July 2025 jury trial setting and was later located in Missouri, where he faces separate charges.
