On September 13th, Coach John Bolding and the Francis Marion School Running Rams’ crosscountry (XC) team hosted their first ever home meet.

The race took place around the school on a one-mile loop where varsity athletes ran three laps for the 5K, and junior varsity athletes ran two laps for the 2-mile. The race was small but went smoothly with hopes that will attract more teams to participate next year to generate more revenue for the team. 25 athletes from Francis Marion, Breakthrough Charter, Demopolis High, and Brookwood High competed at the event.

Francis Marion’s very own Jadarius Carlisle won the varsity boys race. Jamarian Essex placed 6th and Garret Carlisle placed 10th. Overall, it was a great opening race for your Rams as they aim towards making state at the end of October with hopes of placing well individually at the state championship in November.
