County commission looks to hire chief administrative officer

The position is currently held on an interim basis by Bev Gordon, J.D., who has been serving as acting county administrator. The role also requires attendance at commission meetings and the ability to take minutes, manage public records, and respond to ongoing financial and administrative matters across departments.

Qualified applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in business or accounting and have at least five years of experience in governmental services or hold a Juris Doctorate. Strong knowledge of governmental accounting (GAAP and GASB), public finance, competitive bidding, grant management, and intergovernmental procedures is required. Candidates should also be proficient with Microsoft Office and modern financial software and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
