Sandra Ruth Plaxico Horton, 73 of Marion, AL went to her eternal home on April 6, 2025. She was born on November 13, 1951, in Indiana to George Cullen Plaxico and Doris Cathel Brishke Plaxico. She was a CNA at Southland Nursing Home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Joseph Horton, Sr. She is survived by her daughters, Crystalyn Metcalf (Daniel), and Shannon Dwiggins (Robert); and her son, Joseph Horton, Jr. (Bridget). She is also survived by seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held at Pine Crest Memorial Gardens in Marion on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 1:00 pm. with Bro. Gervis Smith officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes, Marion Chapel directing. Pallbearers were: Daniel Metcalf, Robert Dwiggins, Noah Horton, Stephen Dwiggins, Jamie Horton, and Allen Horton.
