On Friday, March 1, Francis Marion students in Mrs. B. Lucky’s 6th grade Science class got to learn about the Cahaba River watershed. The Cahaba Riverkeepers were on hand to provide more information on the diverse ecosystem in the watershed, considered one of the most biodiverse in the United States.
Students engaged in an array of engaging activities, some of which included handling pelts from various animals represented in the Cahaba River. In completing this lesson, the students covered Alabama standards SC15.6.15 and SC15.6.16. Pictured are students observing the pelts of various wildlife found in the Cahaba River watershed.
