Joseph Collins Horton, 73 of Marion, AL went to his eternal home on January 12, 2024. He was born on December 4, 1950, in Bibb County, AL to Collins Horton and Nolayer Horton. He was a manager at Griffin Wood Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Bobby Horton. He is survived by his wife, Sandy Plaxico Horton, his son Joseph Horton (Bridget), his daughters, Shannon Dwiggins (Robert), and Crystal Metcalf (Daniel), his sisters, Johnnie Brewer, Joyce Tyler (Sammy), and Levie Horton, and his brothers, Jamie Horton, Allen Horton, Charlie Horton, and Eddie Horton. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Haley Smithson, Danny Dwiggins, Jessie Hairston, Steven Dwiggins, Noah Horton, Layken Horton, Zoe Horton, and Harlow Metcalf, and one greatgrandchild, Emmett Smithson. He also is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at 11:00 am at Pine Crest Cemetery in Marion with the Rev. Gervis Smith officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes, Marion Chapel directing. Pallbearers were Jamie Horton, Eddie Horton, Allen Horton, Robert Dwiggins, Daniel Metcalf, and Noah Horton.
