A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 10:55 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, has claimed the life of a Moundville woman. Tracie H. Powell, 74, was fatally injured when the 2009 Mazda CX-9 that she was driving left the roadway and struck a tree. Powell was pronounced deceased at the scene. The crash occurred on Alabama 60 near the 4 mile marker, approximately two miles north of Akron, in Hale County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
