Main Street Marion and Col. David Mollahan of Marion Military Institute both received accolades for their contributions to the nonprofit at an awards ceremony hosted by Main Street America and Main Street Alabama on Friday, August 18. Main Street Marion received the Alabama Business Development Award for Excellence for securing the USDA Revolving Loan Fund. Donna Ann Wilson Bennett, who operates the Bennett Book Shoppe, and Donald Bennett are pictured with the award. Col. David Mollahan received the Main Street Alabama Hero Award for his dedication to the city of Marion and the Main Street Marion organization in revitalizing downtown Marion. Mollahan received a plaque with his portrait from Main Street Alabama.
