The Judson College Alumnae Association has announced plans for its annual J-Day celebration. This year’s J-Day is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 9 at Siloam Baptist Church. The following day, on Sunday, Sept. 10, the association plans to hold the 2023 Rose Sunday observance, also at Siloam church.
This year’s J-Day is particularly special as it will feature Dr. Dan Thornton, a former professor in the Humanities Department at Judson College, as a special guest. Currently serving as the Rector at St. Wilfrid’s Episcopal Church in Marion, Alabama, Dr. Thornton will share his thoughts and experiences, bringing his unique perspective to the event. Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase signed copies of Dr. Thornton’s book, as well as to meet and talk with Dr. Thornton and his wife, former instructor at MMI, Molly.
The President of the Judson College Alumnae Association, Dr. Claire Kinnaird Keel, encourages the Judson family to register for JDay at their earliest convenience, as meal reservations will not be accepted after August 11.
The association invites all members of the extended Judson community – alumnae, friends, former staff, and supporters – to join in both J-Day and Rose Sunday. These events are regarded as key opportunities for the community to reconnect, reminisce, and celebrate the ongoing legacy of Judson College.
