America’s pastime is back for the summer and Marion’s youth are ready to show up and show out! The program started last year and was a great success, drawn from There are 10 teams this year and they play every week from Monday to Thursday. These 10 teams are split among 4 groups, with 3 Tee Ball teams for the 4-6 year old age group, 3 Coach Pitch teams for the 7-8 year old age group, and two teams apiece for the 9-12 year old Boys Fast Pitch and Girls Softball groups. On Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, there are 3 games, running from 5:00 to 9:00 while on Wednesday there is only 1 game, which runs from 7:00 to 8:00. This is all happening at the old Marion ballpark off of Magnolia Street. It’s a fun environment for all, with concessions, an encouraging crowd and an active playground scene for the kids who aren’t running the bases on the diamond. Be sure to consider coming out, taking in some great baseball action and spending some time with the community.
