Another outstanding performance for the Francis Marion cross-country team at the Bryant XC Invitational on September 24, 2022. The course consisted of two 1.5-mile laps, which the first mile was uphill followed by a half mile downhill. Two miles of uphill running is no easy task!! Some big-name teams like Paul Bryant and Northridge attended the race that day. Le’Naya Essex placed 8th in the varsity girl’s race. Yasmine Murphy placed 6th in the middle school girl’s race. A special shout out goes to Jamarian Essex, who absolutely crushed all the middle school boys present. He won by 20 seconds. He showed a competitive spirit and racing strategy that foreshadows a very bright running future for this young man and the Running Rams!
