On April 8th, two more Running Rams made the decision to accept athletic scholarships to join the MMI Track and Field team. Lionel Hinton will be throwing the shot put, discus, and javelin for MMI. Hinton will hopefully end his senior season as a Running Rams with at least one podium finish at state. Carlishalyn Steadman will be serving as the team manager. Steadman may not have had the times in track to warrant an athletic scholarship to run for them, however, she has shown her coaches that she is one of the hardest working individuals who is a true team player. Every track and field team at colleges has athletic scholarships for team managers who are a critical piece in any team’s success. When Coach Baletine asked the Francis Marion coaches if they had any athlete who would work hard and be a positive influence, Steadman was the first to come to their mind. Congrats to both these hard working individuals!”
